Sangokushi VI follows in the tradition of its predecessors with an emphasis of world domination and management of an established empire. Continuing in a seasoned ancient Chinese setting, characters and units are taken from other Romance of the Three Kingdoms titles and placed in the palm of your hand. Your overall objective is to destroy rival lands and create a continent wide empire.

As a 3D turn-based strategy title, you'll control a wide variety of units including Northern Riders and the mountaineers of Shu with nearly 600 non-player characters that relay information pertaining to strategies and land layouts. These characters are your eyes and ears on the battlefield as well as vicious rumors -- they are your lifeline.

Emperors can also assimilate players into the nobility and promote them with riches and unit influence. Officers will supply you with additional information and simplify the world domination process by acting out your orders.

In the tradition of Koei's Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, there are over 100 historical event sequences based on actual fact. Depending on your actions and the land you've conquered, the events will change accordingly as you rewrite history. There is also a Chronological Records system that stores the historical events and compares them to the actual battles and settings.

While there are seven historically accurate scenarios in which to choose, running an empire can be a long and drawn-out process. Koei has implemented an additional seven short scenarios for those would be emperors with a limited timeframe. Campaigns span the continent and highlight important battles throughout the territories of China.

Sangokushi VI also includes a new duel-based strategy system that gives armchair emperors unprecedented control of any given battle. It also features an epic soundtrack composed and arranged by Kouji Tsuno. Eight players can also join in on the strategic political and militant empire-building action.
